One of the largest Ukrainian providers joined in blocking Russian social networks
Internet provider Volya began measures to limit access to Russian social networks banned in Ukraine on May 22.

“Starting May 22, we will begin measures to limit access to websites listed in the Decree (on blocking Russian social networks - ed.). Technical work will be completed by June 1,” the message says.
The company advises users to save important information from the social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki to other media.
Also, if the user’s email address is on the resource and is subject to the decree, Vola asks to change it to Ukrainian or international (for example, ukr.net, i.ua, email.ua, gmail.com, yahoo.com ).
Previously, Ukrainian telephone operators Kyivstar, Vodafone and lifecell blocked Russian sites in their mobile applications.
Let us remind you that on May 17, Petro Poroshenko’s decree came into force, which puts into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on the application of economic and other sanctions. The new sanctions list included 1228 individuals and 468 legal entities. This year, Ukraine for the first time introduced sanctions against Russian companies in the Internet and media industry, such as Mail.ru Group, Yandex, VKontakte and Odnoklassniki. A number of Russian media were also subject to restrictive measures: media holding RBC, Zvezda, TNT, Moscow Media, Rossiya Segodnya (RIA Novosti), Nashe Radio, NTV-Plus, NTV , Channel One, Russia 24, RTR-Planeta, as well as anti-virus software manufacturers Kaspersky Lab, Doctor Web and suppliers of popular ERP systems LLC 1C, LLC Parus Corporation, JSC "Galaktika Center"
