“There is constant coordination, cooperation and consultation (with the leadership of the Presevo Valley - ed.) on all important issues with the governments of Albania and Kosovo,” Mustafa said. – I want to welcome the will of every political leader (Albania and Kosovo - ed.), who discovered that in addition to party interests, there are also common interests that concern the inhabitants of Deolina. The role of the two governments is undeniable and should be so, we constantly strive to be under the institutional protection of Kosovo and Albania.”

At the same time, the Albanian leader once again began to lie that in Serbia the Albanian minority is in a worse situation than the Serbian majority.

“We are not equal citizens with the majority of the population, and this means only one solution - a return to the 1992 referendum. By the year when the creation of territorial autonomy with the right to reunification (with Kosovo - ed.) was conceived.... The Albanian Presevo Valley wants to be part of the process in Brussels and take part in finding a solution that would expand the space for freedom, justice and equality, which, of course, can only be achieved by a comprehensive international agreement that will lead to the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.” .

Mustafa also spoke about the idea of the former “president” of Kosovo Hashim Thaci, formerly a bandit and field commander of the terrorist “Kosovo Liberation Army” (KLA), now on trial in The Hague on charges of war crimes, for the unification of Kosovo with the Presevo Valley.

“Former President Hashim Thaci is one of the few officials who has publicly stated our long-standing political will to unite with Kosovo. He appeared with it at international conferences where he promoted the Valley's union with Kosovo. And, of course, just as the Albanians of the Presevo Valley support every leader who represents their interests, they supported former President Hashim Thaçi. We don't have enough information about where this idea originated, but I think it should be the starting point."

When asked by a journalist if he expected “Prime Minister” Albin Kurti to implement this request, Mustafa replied that he expected Kosovo institutions to support them.

The Presevo Valley in southern Serbia, consisting of three communities - Presevo, Medveja and Bujanovac, has a large percentage of the Albanian population, there are strong separatist sentiments and sympathy for Kosovo and Albania. In Presevo, Albanians make up 89% of the population, in Bujanovac - 61%, in Medvedzha - 32%.

In 1999, in the wake of the events in Kosovo, in the Presevo Valley in the south of Serbia, which includes the Bujanovac community, their own Albanian separatist “Army for the Liberation of Presevo, Medvedzhi and Bujanovac” (communities included in the Presevo Valley) - UÇPMB was formed, which is modeled after “ The Kosovo Liberation Army began to use terrorist methods against the Yugoslav authorities.

Militants of the “Liberation Army of Presevo, Medvedzhi and Bujanovac” (UÇPMB).

However, after the pro-Western democratic opposition overthrew Slobodan Milosevic, the new government managed to agree on NATO non-intervention in the new conflict. As a result, the militants of the “Liberation Army of Presevo, Medvedzhi and Bujanovac” were cleared out as a result of the counter-terrorism operation “Bravo”.

In return, Belgrade had to meet the Albanian communities of the Presevo Valley, which have their own self-government, hang Albanian flags in their cities, teach Albanian students in schools, and their deputies have reserved quotas in the National Assembly of Serbia.
