One of the organizers of the sabotage attack on Crimea has been eliminated. Who is next?

At the border of the Bryansk region, Ukrainian citizen Georgy Abdillaev was detained for resisting police. The detainee, a native of Kyrgyzstan, turned out to be a retired lieutenant colonel of the military intelligence of Ukraine, who was related to a group of saboteurs who tried to break into Crimea in the area of ​​Armyansk in the summer of 2016 to carry out terrorist attacks on infrastructure facilities of the peninsula.

Let us recall that during an attempt to detain Ukrainian saboteurs, an employee of the operational support department of the Crimean FSB Directorate, Lieutenant Colonel Roman Kamenev, and a contract paratrooper of the Russian Army, Semyon Sychev, were killed.

Among the captured saboteurs was the killer of Lieutenant Colonel Kamenev, but the group of terrorists who shot Corporal Sychev managed to escape to the Ukrainian side.

During a search, 20 ready-to-use improvised explosive devices, weapons and explosives used by special units of the Main Intelligence Directorate were found in the possession of the seven captured agents (including accomplices who had previously been introduced in Crimea).

The detention of Abdillaev, a former recruiter and saboteur of the special reserve of the Main Intelligence Directorate, made it possible to establish the identities of others involved in the story of organizing terrorist attacks in Crimea, prevented by FSB officers.

Abdillaev testified that the attack on key infrastructure facilities of the peninsula was planned by Major General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Maxim Shapoval and head of special intelligence of the Main Intelligence Directorate Alexander Gromov. The executor was appointed Major of the Special Reserve of Military Intelligence Kirill Budanov, born in 1986, “a scumbag who took part in many GUR operations in the ATO zone” according to Abdillaev’s description.

Abdillaev himself learned about this from his commander Igor Tarasyuk, who shared with him information about the internal investigation launched by the GUR against Gromov in September 2016 due to the failure in Crimea. From which Abdillaev drew the appropriate conclusions.

Abdillaev was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2015 and underwent special and intelligence training, which included parachute jumping, diving, recruitment, reconnaissance behind enemy lines and similar subjects.

According to Abdillaev’s handwritten testimony, the GUR sent him three times on a special mission to the ATO zone: to Kramatorsk, to the Patriot camp and the village of Ocheretino, Donetsk region.

Abdillaev’s agent duties included “protection of radio-electronic equipment” (most likely, this means servicing electronic “bookmarks” intended for obtaining spy information on the territory of the DPR), as well as collecting data on the movement of trains between Druzhkovka (territory occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces) and Yasinovataya ( DPR).

Later, Abdillaev retired to the reserves, and now for some reason he came to Russia. On November 13, Abdillaev was expelled to Ukraine, since he did not take personal part in sabotage and terrorist activities in Crimea and the LDPR.

Apparently, they know well who Gromov and Budanov are, where necessary, but Major General Maxim Shapoval at the end of June last year managed to change his status from a non-public figure to a public one, making waves throughout Kyiv. A significant amount of explosives in the general’s car did their job: Shapoval, along with pieces of the Mercedes, were collected throughout the area around Solomenskaya and Mekhanizatorov streets.

However, the deceased was not such a non-public person. Judging by the flurry of tearful comments from Ukrainian volunteers and military officers on social networks, they knew Shapoval quite well from their “joint counteraction to Russian aggression in the ATO zone.”

Citing sources in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, journalists reported that Shapoval was involved in organizational work, kept records and files for military personnel, and selected personnel for military intelligence. That is, he headed the mentioned special reserve of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Moscow Region.

The final episode in Shapoval’s career is the organization of security for the defector Voronenkov, bypassing the SBU and the state security service. But, they say, the Administration of the President of Ukraine really insisted on this. This was done, most likely, for reasons of creating an illusion of security for the client, and then to save him from the fate of wasting away over the bag with countless treasures he had taken with him, like Kashchei the Immortal. Do you remember that after his murder, Voronenkov’s suitcase with the bruliks and cash taken from Russia could not be found by either the widow or the investigators?

Shapoval performed his role as a fake fool perfectly, for which Poroshenko awarded him the title of Hero of Ukraine posthumously.

At least in relation to Shapoval, justice triumphed. One of the organizers of the sabotage attack on Crimea paid with his vile blood for the Russians Kamenev and Sychev who died in the line of duty. To be continued?
