Solo voyage: The Navalists’ action ended in a resounding failure
Rallies in support of criminal blogger Alexei Navalny in the Far East and Siberia were much smaller than in January, which once again confirmed that the Navalnists are increasing the number of supporters online.
After all, on a specially launched website, more than 450 thousand people declared their desire to hold a rally.
However, as it turned out, after the data was stolen, 70% of them were bots. But today there are clearly not even 150 thousand on the Maidans.
In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, 40 people came out, but they were reluctant to rally there even in January. The situation is the same in Magadan.
Ulan-Ude.
In Vladivostok and Khabarovsk, the police forced Navalnists to change their meeting place. Several hundred people gathered both there and there.
In Vladivostok, they launched a large yellow duck into the fountain, left over from the anti-Medvedev protests; in Khabarovsk they danced in a circle. This is all creativity today. In Irkutsk, Novosibirsk and Tomsk, with approximately the same number of people, they did it without any fuss - they walked around, shouted and that’s it.
In many large cities, they limited themselves to single pickets.
In Yakutsk, which held a rally in January, there were not many people, but this time no one came in a severe snowstorm.
Yes, and there were practically no arrests anywhere.
Everything they could collect in Vladivostok.
The Republic of Buryatia.
“There is very little time for preparation, it all looks quite chaotic. And, of course, repressions, detentions, and arrests themselves play their role. Plus, they saw that the January protests ended in failure to fulfill the demands, everything was very fast, no one expected it, and it was still a weekday, tomorrow they had to go to work,” editor-in-chief of “Mediazona” Sergei Smirnov justified the failure on the air of the liberal radio station “Echo of Moscow”.
Political scientist Alekei Mukhin believes that today's rallies are largely formal in nature. Navalnists will still say that Russia has “revolted” and this will give the criminal blogger a reason to end his hunger strike.
“They say that behind this fuss and haste around protests tomorrow is almost the Donatenführer himself, who (sic!) is tired of starving. And so he came up with a plan: for Volkov to organize a protest on the day the Message was announced, some people came out, and Navalny himself declared everyone well done and, to this end, stopped his senseless hunger strike,” Mukhin wrote in his Telegram channel.
