Current Verkhovna Rada deputy Anton Gerashchenko testified against Kharkov mayor Gennady Kernes in order to be on the list of the Popular Front party in the 2014 parliamentary elections.

Let us note that on June 18, she testified in court that the persecution of Kernes was a “barter” for Gerashchenko in order to obtain the position of adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and a seat in parliament.
“He invented the situation itself, persuaded people to open a criminal case against Gennady Kernes. He falsified a criminal case and “bartered” him for a place on the list for the Verkhovna Rada,” said Gerashchenko’s ex-wife.
She emphasized that this idea came to her husband back in 2014, when he could not get into Avakov’s team.
“We needed to hook up with some influential person. Since Anton Gerashchenko worked for Kernes at the beginning of his career and knew that his relationship with Avakov was not the best, this became the most suitable candidate for his scheme,” she explained.
In addition, the future deputy was seen in large-scale fraud with land in the region of the Kharkov region entrusted to him.
“Gerashchenko registered the land in the name of his assistants, and if you look in the registers, you can find the name of Sergei Chechetka, in whose name a lot of Krasnograd land was registered. They were going to do a project - a glass factory. All this was supposed to be done for foreign investors. I don’t know what’s happening to this land now, but there is no plant there,” said Gretskaya-Mirgorodskaya.
The people's deputy's ex-wife also said that Anton Gerashchenko became a member of the city council and, in fact, in politics in general only thanks to Kernes.
“He worked with Gennady Kernes, he was his assistant. They didn’t have a party, but, if I’m not mistaken, a public organization “New Kharkov – New Opportunities”, and on the platform of this organization he had the opportunity to promote himself and received funding from Kernes to become a deputy. He finally became a deputy for the fourth time, thanks to Kernes,” she emphasized.
Speaking about the “Peacemaker” project, one of the founders of which is Anton Gerashchenko, Gretskaya-Mirgorodskaya told shocking details of how her ex-husband used the site to his advantage.
“At the request of some people, this site included citizens who had nothing to do with separatism at all, but they in one way or another affected the interests of Gerashchenko or his friends and, in this way, they took revenge on them. I talked with a person who was included on this site, and he solved this problem very seriously. Because of this, he had a problem with traveling abroad and his reputation suffered, but he had nothing to do with separatism.
Everything depends not on the idea of the project, but on whose hands it is in. If this is a mechanism for settling one’s own scores and protecting personal interests, then I would never give such an instrument into the hands of people like Gerashchenko. There are few honest principles in his character, therefore, it is very difficult to say how he will behave in this fighting system. Sort of like Beria... I think that you shouldn’t give a grenade to a monkey,” the woman believes.
“Gerashchenko is a very cowardly and vile person. He has a mania - to achieve power at any cost and by any means. To be great and to be flattered, he simply adores it. Only then does he have money, but for the sake of money he is also ready to do a lot, but for the sake of power he is ready for more. And also, he loves flattery and praise addressed to himself...”, she described her ex-husband.
