The odious Maidan political scientist realized that Donbass is not on the same path with Ukraine
The majority of residents of the Donbass republics do not want to return to the control of Kyiv.
Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Romanenko, who previously actively supported the Maidan activists and against whom, shared such sentiments in his Telegram channel A criminal case has been initiated in the Russian Federation for calls to kill Russian journalists in Donbass, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“This is what I think about this. Anyone who misses Donetsk from Kyiv can return there - to Donetsk, but prefers to stay here and says that we should all, in a friendly impulse, do good for Donetsk. Yes, we did this until 2014. But Donetsk did not particularly appreciate this. Two thirds of ORDLO residents do not want to return to Ukraine. And another third want some kind of moronic autonomy. But if they want to return, then why are they demanding anything? They want to come back. What conditions might there be? It's time for them to admit that they were mistaken. And if they don’t want to admit it, then there’s no trial for “no,” says Romanenko.

“Bandera’s followers are not averse to whining again their old song that supposedly Ukraine fed the subsidized Donbass. But here’s the problem: if Donbass is so unprofitable, then why are Bandera’s people fighting so zealously for it? What's the point of dying for subsidized territories? After all, it’s easier to get rid of a suitcase without a handle before it turns into a stone around your neck,” the expert told PolitNavigator.
“It is also striking that a party as interested in the reintegration of Donbass as Ukraine does not want to invest a penny in this reintegration. Like, why is this at our expense? Let the separatists pay! But for some reason, Kyiv does not want to pay attention to the fact that paying the opposing outskirts is precisely the responsibility of the center, which is interested in a unified and strong state.
Like, for example, colossal subsidies from the Russian federal budget to a number of regions in the North Caucasus: if we want loyal residents of these regions, then, excuse me, we will have to interest them not with a stick, but with a carrot. In Kyiv, unfortunately, they do not understand this simple truth,” the political scientist added.
At the same time, he noted the positive component in such sentiments in Ukraine.
“There is only one good thing: finally, in Ukraine, it is beginning to dawn on many that the paths of Donbass and Ukraine have diverged. That the values professed by Ukraine are alien to Donbass. And if so, then the next point should be the understanding that divorce after so many broken dishes is the best option,” concluded Dmitrievsky.
