The odious Ukrainian director concocted a Russophobic film with the Americans
The Ukrainian-American film “Zakhar Berkut,” based on the story of the same name by Ivan Franko, is directed against Russia.
Ukrainian director Akhtem Seitablayev, who became one of the authors of the film, told the Kyiv magazine “New Time” about this.
According to Seitablayev, some viewers who attended the film’s preview saw “events of the modern Ukrainian-Russian military conflict” in the film about the fight against the Mongol conquerors.
“Not without your help, right?” the publication clarified.
“There’s not much point in making films that don’t resonate emotionally with the viewer,” the director responded.
He also stated that some researchers call Franco’s work “a writer’s manifesto against the repressive machine of the Russian Empire of that time,” and the director allegedly “only slightly changed the emphasis.”
At the same time, he said that “he placed on the shields of the Mongol warriors-invaders a coat of arms with a double-headed eagle, which was indeed the coat of arms of one of the Mongol families of that historical period.”
Note that all the main roles in the film are played by American actors. The film was shot in English, but for Ukrainian distribution the film had to be dubbed
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Seitablayev, who directed the film “Cyborgs” glorifying Ukrainian punitive forces, called for irradiation of Crimea Ukrainian propaganda
