CSTO will not interfere in the “inter-Ukrainian conflict” - Secretary General
The forces of the countries that are members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will not interfere in existing conflicts in the post-Soviet space. CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha stated this at a press conference in Moscow.

“The CSTO does not interfere in the conflicts that exist today. We see that there are international institutions created, for example, on the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh or the conflict in Ukraine, I would call it an inter-Ukrainian conflict. These international institutions must act under the auspices of the UN, using the political potential of states,” Bordyuzha said.
Previously, Bordyuzha stated that the CSTO peacekeeping forces can be used outside the collective security region, for example, to resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine, only if they receive a mandate from the UN Security Council.
Today, the CSTO includes six permanent members - Russia, Tajikistan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Kazakhstan, as well as two observer states at the parliamentary assembly - Serbia and Afghanistan.
