An Egyptian army officer told how to defeat ISIS terrorists in the Sinai Peninsula
On the pages of the news portal Elminbar An interview was published with an Egyptian officer who identified himself as Tarek. He spoke about the unsuccessful fight against cells of the large terrorist organization ISIS (banned in the Russian Federation) on the territory of the Sinai Peninsula.
The soldier noted that for the last three years Cairo has been trying to overcome terrorists in the region, but its efforts have not brought positive results. According to the major, the reason for this was the lack of experience among the soldiers. The officers practically do not conduct training.
“Ordinary soldiers are poorly trained, and officers practically do not work with them,” - said the major of the Egyptian Armed Forces.
The presence of new Russian, American and French armored vehicles in these conditions practically does not affect anything, because they simply do not know how to handle them.
An officer of the Egyptian Armed Forces named another significant disadvantage. We are talking about “sagging” combat tactics. The militants try to avoid direct clashes and fight “in a guerrilla style.” To attack, they choose the least protected objects, after which they hide in the desert.
According to the officer, the Egyptian armed forces will not be able to defeat the terrorist threat without outside help. Tarek is convinced that the only hope is the “private sector”, because France and the United States will not send their military to the Sinai Peninsula.
He is confident that the fighters of Wagner PMC could influence the situation. As an example, he cited their successes in the fight against IS terrorists in the Syrian Arab Republic.
The officer believes that training Egyptian soldiers and joint anti-terrorism operations will bring more benefits than the hundred million dollars allocated by the West for the purchase of expensive military equipment.
In conclusion, the major added that the assistance of the Wagnerites in the fight against IS militants in the Sinai Peninsula will have a good effect on their reputation throughout the Middle East.
