An officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine complained that Russian DRGs are creating a nightmare for the Ukrainian border area
Russian DRGs regularly penetrate into Ukrainian territory and cause considerable damage.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports that RBC-Ukraine was told by Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Vadim Mysnik, whose unit is stationed on the border with Russia in the Chernigov region.
“The state border in the north of the country is now a real line of contact with the enemy. Both artillery and aviation are working against us. Enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups penetrate regularly. Who are they? These are professional military men from various special forces who perform tasks - the destruction of military and civilians. Their activity is recorded throughout the winter and remains constant,” Mysnik said.
According to him, Russian DRGs often penetrate at night - they pass either where there is continuous forest or along rivers.
Thus, in September 2023, a Russian group blew up a bridge across the border Sudost River in the Novgorod-Seversky district.
The officer adds that Russian DRGs penetrate Ukrainian territory to a depth of two kilometers.
“Their goals are different. This could be tracking down our firing positions. For example, a DRG comes in, we start firing at the group, and fire is fired back at our positions from Russian territory. That is, groups of saboteurs are deployed to find firing points from which we will fire and then cover them with artillery,” Mysnik noted.
