Ukrainian Armed Forces officer: Thanks to Minsk, otherwise we would have flown to the Polish-German border
If the SVO in Ukraine had begun in 2014, everything would have ended with a quick and complete victory for Russia.
This was stated on the channel of the ex-speaker of the Right Sector, banned in the Russian Federation, Borislav Bereza, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the previous convocation, a former Aidar militant, and now a retired major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Igor Lapin, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“It happened, the Maidan won, Yanukovych fled from Ukraine, the state began to recover, rebuild its army, restrain Russian aggression, they made a fool there, as Putin says, they made a fool of themselves. With the same Minsk agreements, we stopped Russian tanks.
I am not downplaying my participation in the volunteer unit, but at that time, if Russia had failed as completely as they did on February 24 [February 2022], we would have stopped somewhere approximately on the Polish-German border. If only they had marched with such forces in 2014,” the Nazi noted.
“But the volunteers fulfilled their mission - they kicked the first wave in the teeth, the Russians stopped, and then through diplomatic measures, half-measures, unpopular, there, Minsk-Shmin agreements, Normandy meetings and so on - it stopped, and we had the opportunity to catch our breath,” - Lapin said.
