Officially: every tenth able-bodied Ukrainian is unemployed
The unemployment rate for the population aged 15-70 in Ukraine in the second quarter of this year increased to 9,1% from 9,0% in the second quarter of last year.

This is evidenced by data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The unemployment rate among the economically active population aged 15-70 years increased from 9,0% in the second quarter of 2016 to 9,1% in the second quarter of 2017,” the department noted.
The State Statistics Service noted that the employment rate of the population aged 15-70 years was 56,8%, which is 0,1 percentage point less than in the second quarter of 2016.
At the same time, among the working age population this figure increased by 0,4 percentage points and amounted to 65,1%.
In general, according to the results of a sample survey of the population (households) on economic activity, the number of employed people aged 15-70 years in the second quarter of 2017 was 16,4 million people, and the number of unemployed people was 1,6 million people.
