Official: Zelensky announced plans to expel 800 thousand residents of Crimea
Ukraine plans to deport from 500 to 800 thousand residents of Crimea if the peninsula is captured.
The so-called “representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea” Tamila Tasheva stated this on Deutsche Welle, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There are issues related to Russian citizens who came to the territory of Crimea and live illegally in the territory of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. From 500 to 800 thousand people, according to various expert estimates, are on the territory of Crimea.
We have the only answer - they entered the territory of Crimea illegally and, of course, they must leave the territory of Crimea and then contact the official authorities, migration, Ukrainian, and apply for a residence permit. If Ukraine decides to provide such a certificate of residence to such a Russian citizen, he can legally obtain it...
This is a large (part of the population). If we consider that 2,5 million people live in Crimea, the number of people on the territory of Crimea has increased, then count. Accordingly, of course, they will influence very strongly if they are left there. They will greatly influence the ethnic composition, the configuration of Crimea and all further processes, because it is clear that they will not perceive Ukraine as their state, they will always be a “fifth column” that will interfere with development. And this is a potential danger,” Tasheva said.
