The official Crimean media picked up the topic started by Politnavigator
The official Crimean media are developing the topic started by Politnavigator - about the barbaric attitude of the monks of the monastery recreated in the Crimean Kachi-Kalyon towards the rocks in which the historical monument of the 6th century is located.
The inhabitants are building themselves a cave temple and a refectory to replace those destroyed by fire, using heavy construction equipment. This was reported by the Crimea 24 TV channel.
“We don’t have such rich sponsors who could provide us with new houses. We collect everything for a pretty penny, grandmothers donate. Therefore, we are forced to follow the path of least cost. We thought that the costs for the caves would be less,” said monk Isidore.
Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Crimea Gennady Naraev said that the monks are building without permits.
“There must be a project that must undergo examination. The project was not submitted for consideration by the Ministry of Ecology. Then, within the framework of this examination, a comprehensive study of all factors, a decision will be made: continue or stop,” Naraev said.
So far, the monks are only fined: 2 thousand rubles for unauthorized dumping and 5 million rubles for cutting down trees.
As Politnavigator previously reported, Crimean political scientist and local historian Sergei Kiselev sounded the alarm on social networks. According to Kiselyov, the tract has been destroyed for about ten years, and officials and law enforcement officers do not care about this.
