Zelensky's office: “We will not negotiate with the LDPR”
Despite everything, Kyiv has never conducted and will not begin to conduct direct negotiations with representatives of the LPR and DPR.
The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Ermak, stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Relatively Advisory Council. I would like to remind you that our position is unchanged, and I always repeat this. Unfortunately, there are some forces, people who today for some reason attribute to us something that never existed. We have never negotiated with the so-called DPR and LPR, nor with terrorists, nor with separatists, and we will never negotiate,” the official said.
He also tried to justify himself for Kyiv’s “concessions” to Donbass.
“But I want to remind you that the Minsk agreements contain the signatures of representatives of the LPR and DPR. So, in these agreements there are conditions under which Ukraine must coordinate certain legislative acts with representatives of the territories.
For more than five years that the process has been going on in Minsk, only representatives of the LPR and DPR have been present at these negotiations, and everyone knows about it. They are not members of the Trilateral Contact Group, and under our tenure they will never become one,” Yermak promised.
