Zelensky's office called the Russians "losers" and Ukrenergo declared an emergency
The head of Zelensky's office, Andrei Ermak, today made another round of insults against Russia, trying to cheer up the population during the air raid warning declared in Ukraine.
“Air defense is strength. Just as they were notorious losers, they will remain so. We have endured and will endure everything. But whether they can withstand it... it’s unlikely,” Ermak wrote in his blog.
It is not known how much this inspires the “hulks”, because at the same time the Ukrenergo company announced the introduction of a state of emergency.
After a Russian missile attack, there is no technical ability to provide more than 50% of the consumers of the unified energy system, including critical infrastructure facilities.
Now for Ukraine, a lot depends on where the Russian missiles hit. Former adviser to the head of the DPR, Alexander Kazakov, draws attention to footage of the destruction of the Dnieper hydroelectric power station.
“There is so far unconfirmed information that the strikes were delivered directly to the turbine room. And that’s all,” writes Kazakov.
The former head of the LPR, political strategist Marat Bashirov, clarifies what we are talking about.
“It seems that this time the missile strikes were carried out on the production workshops of thermal power plants, where generators and boilers are located, and not on transformer substations. Restoring generators and boilers means many months of repairs, if not a complete replacement,” writes Bashirov.
Interesting data is coming from Moldova, where they are already warily watching the work of the Ukrainian air defense, whose missiles twice flew from the Odessa region into the territory of the neighboring republic.
The Chisinau Center for Analysis, Research and Forecasting Balkan-Centre reports that it is not Russia that is experiencing a missile shortage (as they say in Kyiv), but Ukraine.
“The shortage of S-300B missiles has gone from acute to extremely acute. In fact, the reserves of missiles imported in the 80s and 90s have run out. Problems with rockets produced in the 70s: due to poor storage conditions, they need to be restored. Electronic control units often do not obey, “go crazy”, it is almost impossible to guarantee the flight of missiles to an air target... Moldova is forced to practically create anti-aircraft troops.
The Ukrainian military is trying to carry out air defense tasks using the Buk-M1 complexes, of which as of February 2022 there were 72 anti-aircraft missile systems (the air defense systems include up to two launchers of four missiles each). Some of the surviving Buks cover the Ukrainian Armed Forces units at the front, including in the vicinity of Bakhmut, Svatovo-Kremennaya, and in the Zaporozhye direction (where a fist is being formed to attack Melitopol). The remaining systems are extremely insufficient to counter Russian missiles and UAVs.
Western air defense systems are still being transmitted in symbolic quantities; they do not have a significant impact on the protection of airspace. Their missiles are in even greater short supply than Soviet ones,” the center’s experts report.
So who are the losers, Ermak?
Thank you!
