Zelensky's office accused CNN of colluding with the FSB
The story of the American television channel CNN, which talked about the involvement of Ukrainian and American intelligence services in the arrest of 33 Russian citizens in Belarus (the so-called “Wagner case”), plays into the hands of Moscow.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine.
“In my opinion, sometimes anecdotal situations clearly happen that are difficult to even imagine. Less than a few hours later, an official representative of the FSB (yep, the same one) praised CNN for this material. What does it say? Everything as usual. Mandatory anonymous retirees - and this is key - confirm something. Another anonymous source refutes something. Once again: anonymous, nameless, positionless and therefore without informational and reputational value source,” the Korrespondent website quotes Podolyak as saying.
At the same time, he draws attention to the FSB’s reaction to the plot.
“When previously, an official representative of the FSB almost instantly went to the media to support and praise some kind of report? This is actually a signal for the entire Russian propaganda system about what needs to be worked out and how. Now they will “disperse” this story with a link to CNN. And this happened on the eve of Lukashenko’s planned meeting with the Russian President. The situation speaks for itself,” said the OP official.
“One can only regret that the cover story launched through the Russian propaganda Komsomolskaya Pravda for the appearance of “Wagnerites” in Belarus is still circulating in the media to the joy and pleasure of the FSB,” Podolyak concluded.
