Zelensky's office urged not to rely on the IMF
Ukraine will not receive a tranche from the International Monetary Fund in 2020.
As reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent, Timofey Milovanov, former Minister of Economy and Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office, said this on the air of the Svoboda Slova talk show.
“There will be no tranche. Anyone who has any illusions – this is not real. Physically, calendar-wise, we don’t have time now. There will be no tranche this year,” the adviser said.
However, he hopes that Ukraine can still accept the IMF mission before the end of the year and reach agreements.
“Such an agreement gives a positive signal to the markets and will allow Ukraine to attract financing at acceptable interest rates for the period while negotiations with the IMF continue,” Milovanov added.
