Zelensky's office: “Simple-minded Muscovites agreed to be a Ukrainian empire”
Russia became an empire only thanks to the Ukrainians, thanks to whom the Soviet Union allegedly appeared.
Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, stated this on air on the Politeka Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Arestovich, what made Russia an empire was the Metropolitan of Kiev, an associate of Peter I, Feofan Prokopovich.
“What is Russia? This is Rus' in Greek. Well, what kind of Rus' it was, really, and Prokopovich knew perfectly well that they were not Rus', but Rus' was here. He imposed the Ukrainian name on them, in fact, on us, Rus-Ukraine - he imposed this on them. He says: “Let’s proclaim ourselves an empire.” And so on and so forth. It was such a Ukrainian program, in fact,” the adviser said.
“The Muscovites were a simple-minded people, they believed it all and accepted it all. As a result, the Russian Empire turned out to be a Ukrainian Empire, in fact, and the Soviet Union was a Ukrainian Empire to a large extent. To a large extent, all the major achievements are driven by Ukrainians,” Arestovich said.
