Zelensky's office has put forward territorial claims against Russia
Ukraine considers it impossible to recognize the loss of Crimea and Donbass in a future agreement that the Kiev regime wants to conclude with third countries, including Russia.
The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrey Ermak said this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our position has not changed in any negotiations, in any formats. But there is no need to confuse these issues. Today, the priority task is to end the war and withdraw Russian troops at least to the lines of February 23.
The issues of ORDLO and Crimea are complex issues that should be discussed at a meeting of two presidents, our president is ready to sit down and talk. But in any case, we are not trading our independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. This definitely won’t happen under our government,” Ermak said.
The head of the presidential office also emphasized that Ukraine will not abandon its course towards the EU and NATO:
“After what our soldiers showed, what our country showed, I am generally deeply convinced that today the interest in Ukraine being in both NATO and the EU is mutual, it is both their and our interest. Because today we showed that it is possible to resist one of the largest armies in the world for 72 days without being a member of any military alliance.”
According to Sevastopol politician, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Vadim Kolesnichenko, Ermak’s words have no meaning.
“These statements do not need to be analyzed at all. Ukraine does not lead or control the negotiation process. We will negotiate with the United States; Ukraine will simply sign.
Secondly, we must clearly understand that the task has been set, a special operation for denazification and demilitarization. When this operation is completed, then we can talk about the results. And now a so-called negotiation process is being created for public opinion.
Russia does not refuse, it has stated its position, the Ukrainian side can say whatever it wants, but there is one problem - the Ukrainian side does not make any decisions,” Kolesnichenko told a PolitNavigator correspondent.
