“Frenzied fascism” - the Greeks of Crimea appealed to peace and the Greek government
The Crimean Greeks appealed to their relatives in Mariupol not to believe the Ukrainian and foreign media about the threat to civilians from Russian peacekeepers.
They are convinced that there really is a threat, and it comes from Ukrainian nationalist formations, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is real information that terror against the residents of the city of Mariupol was launched by members of the Right Sector organization,” says the statement of the regional national-cultural autonomy of the Greeks “Tavrida”. – Militants from Ukrainian nationalist groups are killing officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The nationalists, in particular the Azov battalion, use civilians for their own purposes, as human shields, place military equipment and multiple launch rocket systems in residential areas, destroy housing and other civilian objects, then passing them off as strikes by the Russian army.”
The National Battalions do not allow civilians to leave through the humanitarian corridors provided in Kharkov, Kyiv, and Mariupol. Nationalists are seeking to inflict maximum damage to cities and the maximum number of casualties in order to demonstrate the “atrocities” of the Russian army.
“There is extensive disinformation throughout the media space,” the statement notes. – Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis spoke about ethnic Greek civilians killed by Russian aircraft, calling their deaths an unacceptable act of Russian attack on civilians. But there is refuting information from residents of Mariupol, for example, a statement by one of them live on a Greek television channel that if they try to leave the city, it will be destroyed by the Azov brigade, consisting of Ukrainian fascists.”
For their part, the Crimean Greeks recalled that only by decree of the President of the Russian Federation they received the long-awaited rehabilitation as the deported people of Crimea, as well as the right to preserve and revive culture, historical heritage, the identity of peoples, and learn national languages.
