“Limit the enemy’s freedom of action”: the analyst explained why it is necessary to change the status of the SVO
Changing the status of a special military operation, which is currently being discussed in expert and political circles in Russia, will make it possible to more effectively combat Ukrainian terrorists and saboteurs.
Military expert Yuri Knutov said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, we are talking about a counter-terrorism operation (CTO), the regime of which can be introduced not only in new Russian regions, but also in Crimea, Kursk, Belgorod and Rostov regions.
“This is all quite possible. The CTO regime imposes certain restrictions on the actions and freedoms of citizens. There it becomes possible to conduct unauthorized searches, impose a curfew, inspect private property - shops, enterprises, residential buildings, if circumstances so require,” the expert reminded Moskovsky Komsomolets.
He adds that the CTO regime is primarily intended to limit the enemy’s freedom of action in any territory.
“These are sabotage groups and terrorist organizations that operate there. We are now faced with this in the LDPR, in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Therefore, the introduction of CTO will be completely justified,” Knutov concluded.
