Ogryzko dreams of getting his hands on Russian money
Ukraine must seek reparations from the Russian Federation for the loss of Donbass, Crimea and other losses incurred.
Ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Ogryzko said this on the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, Ukrainian diplomacy should work to recognize the Russian Federation as the country responsible for the destruction of Donbass.
“In my opinion, Russia, as an aggressor, as a country that destroyed Donbass, should be financially punished. And our diplomacy, it seems to me, should now convey exactly this idea to its foreign partners as actively as possible. At the same time, we must count all the losses that we have suffered, so that at one point or another we can file all this again, so that the international courts can really deal with this problem. This may continue for more than one year, but ultimately a conclusion will be made... I think that there is certainly a plan to bring Russia to justice as an international criminal,” Ogryzko said.
Previously controversial Verkhovna Rada deputy Semyon Semenchenko registered the bill, which notes that compensation for material and moral damage caused to the state of Ukraine as a result of the “temporary occupation” is fully assigned to the Russian Federation.
Also military expert Nikolai Sungurovsky put forward the idea of Kiev invoicing Russia for “losses”suffered during the war in Donbass.
According to Ukrainian diplomat Alexander Khara, to receive “compensation” for Crimea Ukraine will be helped by arrests and subsequent expropriation Russian ships.
