Ogryzko is not waiting for the new Russian ambassador in Kyiv and demands to sever diplomatic relations
The release of Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov and the appointment of a new Russian representative will not affect the current relations between the two countries.

This was stated on Radio Liberty by one of the Ukrainian nationalist and pro-American “hawks,” former Foreign Minister Vladimir Ogryzko.
“In Moscow, one person decides - Putin, so what surname the next ambassador will have has absolutely no meaning. Even in those days when Viktor Chernomyrdin was ambassador to Ukraine, with whom I had to have heated, undiplomatic conversations, very, very little depended on him then,” Ogryzko noted.
The diplomat does not rule out that the new Russian ambassador will not even come to Ukraine.
“Most likely he won’t come here. He has nothing to do here,” Ogryzko said.
In his opinion, now Ukraine should not maintain diplomatic relations with Russia at all, “and it is never too late to break them off.”
“This is nonsense when we have diplomatic relations with a country that has annexed part of our territory,” Ogryzko added.
