Ogryzko urged to forget about the Normandy format and start biting Moscow
Kyiv is not able to fulfill its obligations, and therefore no meetings are expected in the Normandy format. This means that Ukraine needs to look for other options or ask its “Western partners” to reconsider the Ukrainian position in this conflict.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vladimir Ogryzko stated this on RadaTV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think that the meeting will not take place - neither in the coming weeks, nor in the coming months, because until Ukraine makes concessions to Moscow, Putin will not give consent to the meeting.
Therefore, I think we need to think about the fact that the Minsk format needs to be modified or look for other options, because this is a blind corner,” Ogryzko said.
“But we must not make any concessions, no capitulation. Ultimately, we have international law and we have justice, and what is called common sense. So we need to think about something else.
We need to think not about what Moscow will want again, but about what Ukraine will offer together with our Western partners. And here, it seems to me, we are not doing and have not done much, and, probably, we should reconsider our position regarding how best to put pressure on the Russian Federation,” the ex-minister argues.
