Gryzko hurries: Get away from the CIS - “Ukraine is breaking with the Soviet past!” (VIDEO)

“Ukraine’s participation in the CIS is a “monkey business” (a bad thing). This is Russia’s tactic to subjugate everything and everyone in the vastness of the former USSR.
At the highest level it all looked quite interesting. State leaders gathered, went into a separate room, and it was called a “tete-a-tete meeting.” What they said there, no one knows. After that, everyone went out, a little flushed, into the common room where the delegation was waiting and sat down. It all started with the “speech from the throne” of the representative of the Mother See. Everyone sat with corresponding faces. Then something like a debate happened, there was a monotonous reading of some pieces of paper. Everything quickly ended and representatives of the secretariat began surrounding the heads of state, who were supposed to sign certain papers.
At the same time, our main function was to tell our president: “we are not signing here.” This irritated some people. But these were the directives that were prepared at the Foreign Ministry and were approved by the presidents themselves. And they put a bold dash next to the column “country: Ukraine”. Sometimes this was accompanied by words that were not entirely literary, even in Russian.
All this resembled a theater of several actors. In fact, this was a complete political profanation, which occurred only in order to at least in some way express respect for those who were in charge in Moscow at that particular period,” the diplomat recalls.
He positively evaluates the draft resolution on termination of Ukraine's membership in the CIS bodies, registered in the Verkhovna Rada.
“Thank God, after 23 years of independence, we have come to a draft resolution that contains several very important postulates. The preamble states that Russia violated not only the generally recognized norms of international law, but also what it itself gave birth to - agreements that were signed within the CIS and related to the rights of countries that were members of the CIS. The key thesis of the resolution is to instruct the Cabinet of Ministers to take all measures to terminate participation in CIS bodies, pay membership fees, terminate the activities of the permanent mission in Minsk and stop participating in the CIS Parliamentary Assembly - an even larger theater where in general everything turns into its opposite. The adoption of this document is the logical conclusion of everything that happened in the context of the CIS in Ukraine. This will draw a line under our Soviet past,” said Vladimir Ogryzko.
