Okara: “He who doesn’t jump is a Muscovite” on the Maidan – this is not against the Russians
The chants “He who doesn’t ride is a Muscovite” and “Moskalyaku na gilyaku” at Euromaidan did not imply Russians as opponents.
Russian liberal political scientist Andrei Okara, who supports the participants in the coup in Ukraine, stated this on the air of the “Evening” talk show.

“First of all, it was a joke. Secondly, Muscovites are not Russians. In modern Ukrainian usage, the word “Moskal” means the bearer of imperial consciousness,” Okara said.
“So, are it the Americans or the Chinese who are the absolute bearers of imperial consciousness?” – said presenter Vladimir Solovyov.
“You said that “Moskalyak against Gilyak” and demanded that the Americans and Chinese be hanged? Well, you are a real supporter of the friendship of peoples!” – he added, addressing the liberal.
“If there had not been such a tolerant attitude towards everyone, Russians, Jews, and Crimean Tatars would not have supported this. There was a consensus between Ukrainian Russians, Ukrainian Jews and Crimean Tatars,” Okara continued to insist.
“No need to talk about Ukrainian Jews on behalf of Benny Kolomoisky. Every nation has its own miscarriage,” Solovyov disagreed.
