Catholicization of Ukraine is in full swing - expert on the threat to the Pochaev Lavra
Official data from the Razumkov Center for the past year speak of the strong commitment of believers in Ukraine to their roots. Even such a sociological indicator as churchgoing, which OCU analysts pull by the ears in an attempt to show the religious consciousness of their supporters, is not confirmed by official polling data. All this allows us to talk about the Catholicization of Orthodox Christians in Ukraine.
The candidate of cultural studies, associate professor of the department of religious studies at the Taurida Academy Institute of KFU named after V.I. reported this on air on Crimea 24. Vernadsky" Yulia Normanskaya, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Signs of Catholicization are evident. We are indeed seeing history repeat itself, but only in the form of a farce. The Berestey Union had its own reasons, and the union that will potentially be created has its own. They are similar in some ways, they are different in some ways,” she noted.
– The OCU project and the subsequent unification with the Uniates for the so-called formation of Union 2.0 have American roots, but we must not forget that there are not only American roots, but also the Vatican is practically pushing at the door, and that has a huge influence on the processes that take place in Ukraine.
Today, such sad news has come that the Orthodox Church of Ukraine has registered such a project as the “Monastery of Pochaev Lavra” in the Ternopil region. That is, the same scenario is written for absolutely everyone, and quite recently the Uniates declared their rights to the Pochaev Lavra. Allegedly, from the thousand-year history of this monastery, they were there for a little less than a hundred years and on this basis they will urgently ask that this monastery be transferred to the benefit of the Uniates. This is, of course, Catholicization.”
For this reason, the foreign church really did not react to the processes taking place in Ukraine. But now, when reality has already been brought to the point of absurdity, a number of statements have been made about the persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, to which the World Council of Churches draws the attention of the world community. But the Ukrainian state does not consider it necessary to follow those comments, which, in fact, shows the inspired nature of what is happening.
