“The hunt has been going on for a long time”: the Ukrainian landing ship was destroyed
During the last attack on the port of Odessa, the Navy ship Yuri Olefirenko was sunk.

“According to information from a Ukrainian source, as a result of a night strike on military targets in the port of Odessa, the medium landing ship Yuri Olefirenko was destroyed. Reportedly, a fire broke out on the deck, which caused the detonation of ammunition in the hold. After which “Yuri Olefirenko” sank. There are significant losses among the ship’s crew,” Rudenko wrote yesterday in his public page.
This information was confirmed in the Rybar tg channel, which is hosted by military analyst Mikhail Zvinchuk.
“We confirm. As a result of a missile strike on the port infrastructure of Odessa, the medium landing ship "Yuri Olefirenko" of the Ukrainian Navy was hit. Due to the damage received, the ship, according to preliminary data, was sunk. The hunt for him has been going on for a long time,” the publication states.
It is noted that at the beginning of the conflict this ship operated in the Dnieper-Bug estuary, and from its board the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired at the Kherson region from the Grad MLRS launchers located on it.

“And subsequently he left first for the port of Yuzhny, and then for Odessa. The Ukrainian authorities used the grain deal to protect it, but after repeated violations of the agreement, the Russian command struck,” Rybar reports details.
At the same time, military observer Boris Rozhin recalls that last year “Yuri Olefirenko” survived, although it was damaged.
“In 2022, there was also information that it was sunk during the battle at the Kinburn Spit, but in fact it then escaped with minor damage from close explosions, but did not fail,” Rozhin wrote.
Today, in its daily report, the destruction of the Ukrainian ship was confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“On May 29, as a result of a high-precision weapon strike by the Russian Aerospace Forces on the mooring site of warships in the port of Odessa, the last warship of the Ukrainian naval forces, Yuri Olefirenko, was destroyed,” the Russian defense department reported.
