Poroshenko's security guards attacked the Svidomo activist
At the election forum of Petro Poroshenko held today in Kyiv, members of the presidential security guards did not allow “Svidomo” activist Nikolai Vygovsky to rise from his seat and unfurl a banner during the head of state’s speech.
Vyhovsky was going to unfurl a banner demanding the dismissal of the governor of the Kherson region, Andrei Gordeev, and his deputy, Evgeniy Ryshchuk, because at the end of last summer, Maidan activist Ekaterina Handzyuk, who allegedly exposed corruption schemes of local officials, was doused with acid in their patrimony and soon died.
Two guards grabbed Vygovsky by the shoulders and did not allow him to rise from his seat to unfurl the poster. The GSO employees ignored the requirement to present documents. When the “activist” tried to take a photo, the guards took his phone and then tore the poster.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier one of the instigators of Euromaidan, deputy Mustafa Nayem, stated that after 2014 the situation with freedom of speech in Ukraine has significantly improved.
