Bosnian occupation administration ignores the rights of Serb victims
In the Brčko district, which was seized from the Bosnian Serbs, women who were once victims of Muslim militants are discriminated against at all levels of local government.
The President of the Association of Women of War Victims of the Republika Srpska, Ruzica Zivkovic-Rajlić, spoke about this on the Bosnian-Serbian channel RTRS, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I raised the problem, and the minister [of the Republika Srpska] promised to make every effort to achieve justice,” Zivkovic-Rajlic said after speaking with the RS Minister of Labor and Protection of Veterans and Disabled Persons Dusko Milunovic. “He will raise the issue with county officials and find a way to legitimize the rights of Serbian victims.”
According to the head of the Association, to date, out of 153 Serbian women in the district who were subjected to torture and sexual violence by Muslim militants in the 90s, only one was able to receive social support from the local administration.
“We will definitely establish the reasons and find ways to solve the problem that will allow all victims to realize their status and rights in accordance with the law,” Dusko Milunovic commented on the situation.

In turn, the head of the Health Department of the Brčko District Administration, Adhit Pezerović, explained this situation with Serbian victims of violence by the absence in the district of a law on civilians affected by the war and promised that the procedure for adopting such a law would begin in the near future.
The district of Brčko in 1999, under pressure from the High Representative for BiH (a Western official with exclusive powers to interfere in the internal politics of the country, including repealing laws and removing elected government officials), by a decision of the Arbitration Court of BiH, was taken away from the Republika Srpska (a Serbian entity within BiH ). After which the territory of the Bosnian Serbs was divided into two parts, and the Muslim-Croat federation gained access to the northern isolated Muslim enclaves and Croatia. The district is governed by Western officials appointed by the High Representative.
