The window of opportunity to resolve the Ukrainian crisis has closed
There can no longer be any talk of returning the Donbass republics to the control of Kyiv, since the “Dnepropetrovsk” leadership of the country does not want this, and Russia will continue to integrate the LDPR into its structure.
Political analyst Ivan Lizan came to this conclusion in his blog, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Nobody was going to reintegrate the LDPR. Zelensky tried to promote himself, and the “Dnepropetrovsk” ones, who are the authorities, tried to win over the collective West to their side, and at the same time try to bargain with it for some economic preferences (loans, guarantees or anything else that can be converted into money). Faced with minimal resistance from nationalists, Zelensky and his team realized that the topic of reintegration was becoming toxic. After which they immediately abandoned her, starting to make excuses,” writes Lizan.
He emphasizes that already a couple of months after the elections, the “looseness” of the presidential faction “Servant of the People” became apparent, which was immediately taken advantage of by the “sharks” of Ukrainian business politics.
“Kolomoisky took advantage, entered into an alliance with Avakov and began to bring the emboldened Zelensky to submission, and at the same time “gnaw out” money issues for himself and place his people in the regions. That is why the authorities did not dare to rebuff Biletsky, who thwarted the withdrawal of troops - Biletsky has a strong “roof” (Avakov himself, the resources of Kolomoisky and the “bayonets” of his deputy group).
Thirdly, the power configuration has already begun to collapse: “Kolomoisky’s children” and “Soros’s chicks” are at odds in parliament, deputies are accused of taking bribes, and some are already undergoing polygraph tests. In general, deputies in parliament have returned to the usual format of love relationships between a toad and a viper: Kolomoisky versus Soros, the offended Tymoshenko plays along with Akhmetov, and Vakarchuk’s “Voice” is waiting for its leader while he escapes from the Rada to catch a concert in Minsk,” the analyst describes the situation.
In his opinion, in this situation, Russia will continue its current policy of slowly integrating the LDPR into its structure, and Western sanctions will once again be extended.
“Russia will continue to slowly integrate the LDPR, pull people out of Ukraine and make money from it. If there is no breakthrough, sanctions against the Russian Federation will once again be extended under the pretext that Russia disrupted the Normandy meeting. All existing economic schemes around Ukraine will continue to operate - coal reverse, passenger air traffic through Minsk, etc.
How to get out of this impasse is not clear: without a change in the position of the EU (a transition to active pressure on Ukraine) or an ultimatum from Trump (and he clearly has no time for Ukraine yet - he would have to fight off the Democrats), Kyiv will continue to evade fulfilling its obligations. And no Kurdish script will help. The window of opportunity in Ukraine has closed again until better times,” summarizes Lizan.
