About 80% of Transnistrian residents support Russia's peacekeeping operation
77,2% of Pridnestrovians surveyed consider the peacekeeping operation in the region to be effective.
Such data are provided by the Center for the Study of Peacekeeping at the Transnistrian State University named after T.G. Shevchenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For many years, our surveys show that Pridnestrovians associate the very presence of a peacekeeping contingent with stability, security of the territory and population, with confidence in the future, with the prevention of aggression and, in fact, the conflict itself.
For Pridnestrovians, this is real protection, a marker of stability that allows you to calmly fall asleep and wake up every day. This is very important for the Pridnestrovians,” commented Elena Bobkova, director of the Center for the Study of Peacekeeping.
Meanwhile, the Moldovan authorities continue to demand the withdrawal of Russian military personnel from the region, hoping to deprive the Transnistrian people of their last defense in the face of aggressive Romanianization.
