Poroshenko’s entourage is discussing a complete abandonment of Crimea and Donbass
People around Petro Poroshenko are discussing the idea of completely abandoning Crimea and Donbass. Political scientist Kost Bondarenko said this on air at UkrLife.
According to him, the president’s nationalist circle understands that voters in Crimea and Donbass would create serious problems for the current Ukrainian regime.

“Many people, informally, of course, not on camera, not on record, but many people in his circle, and in general in the so-called “patriotic camp” say: “Why do we need Donbass at all? We lost Crimea - it’s good that we lost Crimea, Donbass would still be there, without Donbass. You know how much we win electorally then. Because why do we need these votes that will go to the Opposition Bloc or to another political force that is emerging in the southeast. We have lost these territories, and let’s forget about them.”
This is one of the ideas that is being discussed today absolutely informally, but absolutely sincerely and honestly, in the presidential circle,” Bondarenko said.
