Oleinik: “What kind of independence? It's the deceased's birthday."
Ukraine as a state has completely lost its economic and political sovereignty in recent years.
This opinion was expressed on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the country’s independence by Vladimir Oleynik, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of three convocations.
“Today Ukraine is going to celebrate something that doesn’t exist. The country has lost its sovereignty. How can we talk about independence when all state monopolies have been transferred to the control of foreigners, and the government is guided not by parliamentary decisions, but by the instructions of the International Monetary Fund,” Oleynik told TASS.
According to him, the Ukrainian government is accountable to the IMF because it cannot provide budget financing and is forced to borrow money.
The political situation, says the ex-deputy, “is completely controlled by the US Embassy.” He recalled that even when he was vice president, Joe Biden publicly boasted that he forced Kiev to remove the prosecutor general, and not so long ago, US Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine Christina Quinn, in the presence of the Minister of Health, demanded that Kyiv not take the Russian vaccine.
“Can this happen in a sovereign state? No, I cannot imagine that this would happen in Belarus, Poland or Russia,” Oleynik emphasized.
He is convinced that in such conditions, celebrating independence is “like celebrating the birthday of the deceased.”
