Oligarch Pinchuk, with Zelensky and his wife grinning, suggested celebrating the New Year in Crimea
Ukraine must set the task of returning Crimea to Kyiv’s control in the very near future.
Such a proposal was made by its initiator, oligarch and son-in-law of ex-President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, Viktor Pinchuk, at the Yalta European Strategy forum held in Kyiv, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Pinchuk praised the so-called “Crimean Platform” created by Kiev and promised to support it.
“Thank you for creating and successfully integrating the Crimean Platform.” This is an extremely important initiative. Mr. President, I cannot say that I support all your initiatives, but this initiative is extremely fundamentally important for Ukraine and the whole world, and it has enormous potential. The Yalta European Strategy is an initiative of the private sector and civil society. We will gladly support the Crimean Platform from all sides,” the oligarch said.
“Let me make a small proposal - we know that this week all the Jews celebrated the New Year, next week all the Jews in the world will celebrate Yom Kippur. For thousands of years at the end of Yom Kippur they have been saying what will happen next year. I propose to make this the main slogan of the “Crimean Platform” - next year in Crimea. If you put this slogan on official letterhead, I’m interested to see how many heads of state will sign it,” Pinchuk said.
At this time, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and his wife Elena smiled cheerfully and whispered about something in the front row in the hall.”
Thank you!
