The oligarchy is preparing a replacement for Zelensky's party
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and his Servant of the People party are not capable of playing the role of representatives of national interests, and therefore the Ukrainian oligarchy will create an alternative to them in the form of a new national political force.
Director of the Sofia strategic group Andrey Ermolaev told Ukrlife, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Zelensky looks like a very lonely figure. He is surrounded by 3 – 5 advisors with their own interests. His system, created as the “Servant of the People” coalition, has the character of such a consortium of interests, not yet dispersed, but consortium. Moreover, the interests of either the regional elites, who sent their managers, or business, which always takes its opportunistic position, prevail there,” Ermolaev noted.
“So the question is a new configuration. For the oligarchy, which may face the threat of a change in the economic geostrategy of Ukraine, the question will not be in the fight against Zelensky and not in the defeat of the political force (“the greens” do not look like a serious political force that will get into the new parliament), but rather in the formation of its doctrinal political force.” , said the expert.
They will need to win the trust not only of the voter, but also the trust of regional political groups as bearers of national interests - something that they are now being deprived of. Roughly speaking, the oligarchy has to solve the problem of becoming the subject, conductor and manager of part of the national interests. This means that its only way out is to try to prepare and support political forces that will also look like national ones. The time when political forces were formed according to the principle of a separate region is passing. To regain power, you need to reclaim the national role,” the political scientist concluded.
