“We are all worried about the future of Ukraine, but it largely depends not on external factors, but on internal ones,” the expert said at a round table in Kyiv.
“What is often not taken into account is that the degree of capital concentration in Ukraine is one of the highest in the world. If we take the number of billionaires in relation to GDP, we get one of the highest figures in the world, if not the highest. This means that the degree of monopolization of the Ukrainian economy is extremely high, simply impossibly high. And without demonopolizing capital and the economy, it will not be possible to move forward. It is absolutely clear that success on this path depends entirely on how effective the Ukrainian state will be,” says Valeriy Geets.
