Omelyan admitted that Ukraine instills fear in foreign tourists
There is not a large flow of foreign tourists in Ukraine because abroad this country is considered scary and expensive.
The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladimir Omelyan stated this on the INTB TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For many citizens of the European Union, Ukraine is still “Terra incognito”, and they only know about us such stereotypes as Chernobyl, war, corruption. Who will fly to such a country if an air ticket costs $500?” the minister said.
However, in his opinion, if we launch good advertising for Ukraine and significantly reduce air ticket prices, a flow of European tourists will pour into the country.
“But if you advertise Ukraine as a country with good opportunities, excellent cuisine, cheap prices, interesting historical monuments, then people will fly to Kyiv and Lviv if it costs 20-30, and sometimes 5 euros per ticket. And this is happening,” Omelyan added.
Let us recall that earlier the chairman of the subcommittee on gender equality and non-discrimination of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations Irina Suslova reported that Ukraine is famous abroad for its easily accessible girls, and not by production, historical monuments or anything else.
As PolitNavigator reported, the US State Department on its official website warns American citizensthat a trip to Ukraine involves the risk of being robbed or killed.
