Omelyan: “Don’t take Russians prisoner. We fought with them in the First and Second World Wars."
If Russia, after a hypothetical defeat, has to recover for 50 years, then there is a chance that one generation of Ukrainians will live without a war with the Russians.
The former Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, and now the captain of the 206th Terrestrial Defense Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vladimir Omelyan, stated this on the Espreso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Omelyan was reminded of his cousin, a participant in the Maidan, opera singer Vasily Slipak with the call sign “Myth”, who volunteered to fight in the Donbass as part of the “Right Sector” and died in June 2016 from a sniper bullet.
“What kind of full-fledged revenge do you see for yourself on the orcs for the death of your cousin and thousands of our Ukrainians?” – asked the presenter.
“Revenge is very simple - I don’t take anyone prisoner. In fact, he and I are continuing the work of our family, because during the Second World War and the First World War, we fought with the Muscovites on the battlefield, among other things. I think that our ancestors did the same thing from the XNUMXth century, and we, unfortunately, are forced to do the same in the future.
The only question is, if we manage to inflict such a defeat on Russia after which they will not be able to recover over the next 50 years, then we have a chance that at least one generation of Ukrainians will be born and live in peace without another war with Russians,” said Omelyan.
