“He is no longer a Ukrainian boxer” – the persecution of boxer Usik began in Kyiv
Ukrainian nationalists refuse to recognize world boxing champion Alexander Usik as their own after he agreed to hold a championship fight with Russian Murat Gassiev in Moscow.
UNA-UNSO speaker Nazar Prikhodko said this in his blog, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, after the World Cup in Russia, the holding of a major boxing match should also be boycotted by Ukrainians.
“The majority of my Facebook segment, including me, is boycotting the 2018 World Cup in Russia. At the same time, boxer Usik will fight with Russian champion Gassiev in Moscow on July 21.07.2018, XNUMX. That is, there will be another demonstration of the presence in Ukraine of two parallel realities, when for some there is war, Russia as an aggressor, Ukrainian soldiers and civilians are killed and wounded, and for others this would not be the case, but there is football and boxing in Moscow,” – the nationalist is indignant.
He proposes to work by increasing the number of his supporters.
“For me, after this decision by Usik, he is NOT a Ukrainian boxer, but my main task is not this personal internal recognition, but to ensure that at least one more person who does not think so now thinks so. This is how we will change the mentality, the country and the state, starting with the attitude towards secondary things and ending with the fundamental ones. We are working,” writes Prikhodko.
