Is he to blame for this too? Czech Jews protest against Putin's visit to Prague for Holocaust commemoration event
New York - Kyiv, December 20 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) - The Czech Jewish community is protesting against President Milos Zeman's decision to invite his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to events in memory of Jews killed by the Nazis in Prague next month. Businessweek reports that one part of the Jewish community has only one explanation: “The visit will be inappropriate.”

“Zeman invited Putin and other representatives of the Allied countries of World War II to a forum on the memory of the Holocaust in Prague and Terezin on January 26-27. The Federation of Jewish Communities of the Czech Republic said that Putin’s participation in the event would not be correct, given the “current political situation,” writes Businessweek.
Red Army soldiers freed tens of thousands of Czech and Polish Jews imprisoned in concentration camps, thereby stopping their murder. However, the political situation has come to the fore in this issue.
According to Zeman's press secretary Jiri Otsacek, the office of the Czech President will not comment on or change the lists of participants. At the same time, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko publicly stated that he would also come to Prague. Plans to invite Vladimir Putin to the event along with other leaders were announced back on November 18.
