“He’s just making himself important” – Kobolev was caught in a lie
Ukraine is not in danger of being deprived of its status as a transit country for energy resources to Europe after the launch of Nord Stream 2, because in EU countries the demand for gas is growing every year.
Ukrainian economist Viktor Skarshevsky said this on the YouTube channel “PolitWera”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“In the next 3-5 years, Russia will be interested in the Ukrainian gas transportation system for the transit of its gas to Europe. Demand for gas is growing, and production of its own gas in Europe is falling. They (Europeans - прим. ред.) shutting down nuclear power plants and switching from coal to gas. That is, Ukraine will remain a transit country for at least the next three years, there will be no zero collapse. There will be 50-60-70 billion cubic meters, it will even depend on the weather: a cold winter will mean that transit will increase,” the expert noted.
Viktor Skarshevsky also accused the head of the board of NJSC Naftogaz, Andrei Kobolev, of lying and wanting to stay in his position.
“When the head of Naftogaz, Andrei Kobolev, says that the pipe will be dry, he is simply making himself feel important, that nothing can be solved without him, he must be left, even with zero salary, as he said. Kobolev just wants to bring everything to some logical conclusion,” the economist added.
Let us recall that earlier Andrei Kobolev stated that after the commissioning of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline Ukrainian gas transportation system will remain unclaimed.
