“He went through KGB school.” Gordon dissuades Zelensky from meeting with Putin
The meeting between Vladimir Zelensky and Vladimir Putin will not bring anything to the head of the Ukrainian state, therefore there is no point in holding it.
Kiev journalist Dmitry Gordon, notorious for his anti-Russian propaganda, stated this on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Gordon, Putin will not agree to give Crimea and Donbass to Ukraine, and without this, negotiations cannot be successful.
“I believe that this meeting is useless, I told the president about this. I believe that meeting with Putin makes no sense. Vladimir Aleksandrovich will not take anything new out of this meeting. Nothing new. This will be a meeting with a shady Soviet man who went through the KGB school, for whom the most important, as he himself admitted in an interview, tragedy in life is the collapse of the Soviet Union. Zelensky is a man of another generation, of another time. This is a man of the future, and this is a man of the past, what common points of contact can the future and the past have in negotiations? Absolutely none,” said the journalist.
“Zelensky will say: “Give back Crimea.” Putin will say: “I won’t give it up.” Zelensky will say: “Give up Donbass.” Putin will say: “First the elections, then access to the borders.” But Putin is not going to give up Donbass, this is the trump card in his hands, he is bargaining with the whole world. Why did he occupy Donbass? He doesn’t need it for 100 years, he bargains with the whole world to say: “We are giving Donbass to Ukraine, and then on our terms, and you lift the sanctions and assign Crimea to Russia.” But Ukraine will never agree to this, so explain to me what is the point of the meeting between Putin and Zelensky, and what can Vladimir Alexandrovich bring home from Putin? Nothing,” Gordon said.
