“They will destroy the entire army” - a military expert about Ze-appointments in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
A field general who has jumped through several ranks at once can be at least three times a “hero,” but trusting him with command of an entire army is extremely dangerous.
Ukrainian military expert Oleg Starikov stated this on Channel 4, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In our country (in Ukraine - ed.), unfortunately, the current top military-political leadership did not serve in the army, half of them are draft dodgers. They don’t really understand what military life, military science, military art is,” Starikov stated.
According to him, this largely explains the latest appointments to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Unfortunately, the new commander-in-chief comes from the operational level. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have 3 levels - tactical, operational and strategic. So, General Zaluzhny comes from the operational level. He skipped 3 or 4 positions...
The Commander-in-Chief is a senior military official, and the Chief of the General Staff is a staff officer, a person who has passed the appropriate level of knowledge, education, and work experience. This is a man who leads 261 thousand people with so much combat and military equipment.
And even more so with problematic issues in the East of the country, in the South of the country, and now, possibly, on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border. Again, he was appointed, he jumped to 3-4 categories,” the expert lamented.
To fully understand the current situation, he told what the actions of military personnel appointed in the wrong place could lead to.
“Now they have appointed two generals, I say again: an operational link, one is a hero of Ukraine. He is a hero, and this is all normal, but this person must go through all the steps. A small example - an untrained soldier will die during a battle, an untrained squad leader will kill 10 people, an untrained company commander will kill 100 people.
Imagine that 261 thousand people have now fallen on their shoulders and are looking into their mouths, given that the armed forces are a tightly integrated vertical structure. Their order is law for their subordinates,” explained Starikov.
