“They are all about... Life is not enough to restore Ukraine” - Zakharova
Compared to many post-Soviet countries, Ukraine managed to secede from the USSR at the least cost, but Ukrainian politicians managed to bury any chance of becoming a reference point for many European states.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this on RT-Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Politicians, lobbyists, financiers in Ukraine - they are skimming their socks off. And the fact that the country ended up where it ended up in the medium term is definitely not to its advantage. I think they deserve a much better position. National interests, their understanding and the arrival of people who would contribute to their implementation would help them get out. They truly burned, they truly experienced, they would lay down their lives.
Because at this stage, 4-5-7-8 years - no. Life must be invested in returning the state to the track of national interests and national politics. Not nationalistic, because under the slogans “Glory to Ukraine,” Ukraine is above everyone else in the world, torchlight processions, Bandera – this is definitely not national interest, this is a retreat into nationalism,” Zakharova said.
According to her, in comparison with many post-Soviet countries, Ukraine managed to secede from the USSR at the least cost.
“An amazing country, amazing opportunities for running and developing all sectors of the economy. Industry, science, sea, population, level of education, harmonious coexistence with neighbors, it would seem.
Water areas - what a scope! The Black Sea Fleet, which fed them, by the way, not only paid the rent, but created great infrastructure opportunities for the future of Ukraine. But that’s not the main thing, it’s such a fantastic basis. The main thing is that they came out without conflict. They’re all about…” the Foreign Ministry representative faltered.
“...shit,” the presenter prompted.
“We missed the opportunity, we missed it,” Zakharova responded diplomatically. – It was truly a fantastic chance to be a reference point for so many European countries, with such opportunities. They missed everything."
