The UN is asked to recognize Ukraine’s actions in Donbass as genocide
Participants in the final meeting of the Russia-Donbass Integration Committee for 2017 appealed to UN member states to recognize what is happening in Donbass as an act of genocide by the Ukrainian authorities against civilians, a crime against the Russian-speaking population, and to take the necessary measures to suppress it.

“Those who defend Donbass, defend their families, their right to life, and those who were not afraid to stay in their native land and hear the whistle of bullets and the roar of explosions every day. Most of them are ordinary civilians, children, women, and pensioners. The Right Sector, banned in Russia, calls these people separatists. It is against them that the Kyiv authorities are using American weapons,” the statement says.
The initiator of the appeal was Andrei Kozenko, a member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation from Crimea.
“We have no illusions about the official reaction to such an appeal, especially against the background of the absurd anti-Russian resolution of the General Assembly on Crimea. However, our position must be heard. To highlight the hypocrisy of “Western partners,” Kozenko said.
The Russia-Donbass Integration Committee was established in March 2017 in Yalta. During the year, he held more than 500 events in the field of social sphere, science, culture, education, health and sports.
