This is the opinion in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “Vesti. Reporter,” said Kost Bondarenko, director of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation, answering the question why a third of Ukrainians, according to the latest data, cannot decide on the vector of the country’s development.
“Some people don’t care,” the expert believes. “The other part is confused and doesn’t know how to assess the situation. Finally, there are a lot of people who are afraid to talk about their preferences. I work with four sociological companies, and sociologists note that today more than half of respondents - up to 60-65% - refuse to answer questions at all. Which didn't happen before. People are afraid that they will express their opinion, and tomorrow some radicals will come to them and begin to find out why they have such preferences and not others.”
“Today sociological data speaks more about trends,” summed up the Ukrainian political scientist. “If we take absolute numbers, then some results have to be multiplied or divided by two.”
