Cable TV operators refused to comply with the demand of the Ukrainian authorities to turn off Russian channels
Kyiv, March 12 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Cable television operators refused to comply with the request of the Ukrainian authorities to turn off Russian channels, Radio Liberty reports. According to the radio station, on Wednesday morning in Kyiv the largest provider “Volya” continued to broadcast Russian channels. The Navigator correspondent also confirms the work of Russian TV channels in the Darnitsky district of Kyiv with other cable TV operators.

Earlier, the National Council on TV and Radio Broadcasting called on cable TV operators to stop showing Russian channels until 20:00 Tuesday.
In Crimea and Sevastopol, the broadcast of Ukrainian channels criticizing the idea of a referendum on annexing the peninsula to Russia was stopped the day before.
