“Ukraine’s defense industry must catch up with Israel in ten years” – Petrenko
Ukraine must catch up with Israel within ten years and begin to independently produce all types of weapons necessary for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukrainian political scientist, expert at the International Center for Advanced Studies Igor Petrenko stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We must follow in the footsteps of Israel in terms of developing our own defense-industrial complex. We have a great dependence on the supply of Western weapons, and within ten years we must try to overcome this dependence and start making weapons ourselves,” the expert flew into the clouds.
“This is the path that Israel has taken since the nineties. But today they make almost all the weapons they need in-house. But in general, in terms of resources and much more, they are dependent.
But we must understand that without investment in science, nothing will come of it. This is a scientific-industrial complex that should work,” Petrenko complained.
